Origin Story

My friends have been sending me medical reports - their own, their family members, etc. - since I was just a medical student.

Many years ago, I thought I could create some kind of database of my answers (explaining diabetes, lab results, etc.), but I shelved the idea due to the inherent cost of creating something like that.

Fast forward to AI and LLMs. I thought maybe I could finally create something with AI that would fulfill this need for my family and friends and perhaps help others, too.

This birthed Medsplain: an AI-powered tool that will TRANSLATE (without diagnosing) medical jargon into plain English, so you can understand what your medical report is trying to say.

Who Medsplain Helps

Today, patients have access to their medical data - but not clarity and understanding. Portals, PDFs, and emailed reports give you information without explanation. Medsplain exists to close that gap, responsibly.
