Terms & Conditions

Last updated: June 2026

1. Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using Medsplain — including our website, web tools, and API (together, the “Services”) — you agree to these Terms & Conditions. If you are using the Services on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.

2. What Medsplain is — and is not

Medsplain translates and organizes medical information into plain language. The Services are for informational and educational purposes only. Medsplain does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment, and is not a substitute for the judgment of a qualified healthcare professional. Never disregard or delay seeking professional medical advice because of something you read through the Services. In an emergency, contact your local emergency services.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, to use the Services. By using the Services you confirm that you meet this requirement.

4. Your content

You retain ownership of any documents, reports, or text you submit (“Your Content”). You grant Medsplain a limited licence to process Your Content solely to provide the Services to you. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to submit any content, including content concerning other individuals, and for complying with applicable privacy laws when doing so.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the Services, including by attempting to reverse-engineer, disrupt, or gain unauthorized access to our systems; using the Services to violate any law or third-party right; or submitting content that is unlawful or that you are not authorized to share. We may suspend or terminate access for conduct that breaches these terms.

6. API terms

API access is provided subject to any rate limits, documentation, and additional agreements we make available. API keys are confidential and you are responsible for activity under your keys. We may modify, deprecate, or limit API features with reasonable notice where practicable.

7. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The Services are provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and accuracy. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Medsplain shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any decision made or action taken in reliance on the Services.

8. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the Services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
